UPS...P for Pot??

I had a very interesting week last week here at work, and I have been wanting to share, but haven't really been able to talk about it until now.

On Tuesday the 24th a guy walked into the store, with the label from a package that we had sent that was going to NY and wanted some information on the guy that had sent it. I must have given him a confused/concerned look, because he then pulled out his badge, and said that he was with the local Narcotics Task Force. He proceeded to tell me that this particular customer had shipped from our store about 30 pounds of marijuana. I'm sure that my mouth dropped! That's a first! So I gave him all the information that I could and I had him talk to the employee that had acutally helped ship the packages.

A couple days later, we were in the paper....here's the article!

Happy Birthday Robert!!

It was Robert's birthday on Friday and he made the most wonderful birthday cake for himself. I do want it known that I would have made it for him, but he wanted to make it himself. If you are family, you may be familiar with this cake...Italian Creme Cake. To sum it up it is like carrot cake with pecans and coconut instead of carrots. It is a very rich cake, and you really only want a little piece of it.It isn't a difficult cake to make, but it is a little complicated and time consuming. I was proud of Robert, he only called me at work once to ask a question! :0) I got home from work that night, to find the cake on the table...and what could I say, I wanted to dig right in!! But alas, we had to stare at it for another day before we could taste it. The night of Robert's birthday, I brought home some pizza and we had pizza, cake and watched Hidalgo. I give Robert two thumbs up for his cake ... it ROCKED!! He has promised to make it for MY birthday next year! hehe

COLDS!

I just wanted to say...I am SO VERY READY FOR SPRING!!! I don't think it could get here fast enough! Our whole family has a cold right now and it is HORRIBLE! I hate it! Teniah started it off by bringing home a cough and is pretty much over hers by now. Kierstin and I got ours about the same time. Each day I get better, but Kierstin is feeling pretty bad. She has a runny/snotty nose and a horrible cough! I know she doesn't feel good when she won't even let me put her down or doesn't want to eat! I carried her around the house yesterday for almost an hour before she let me put her down. Each time I tried, she'd cry. Horrible! Robert got it a couple of days ago, but his is mostly just a stuffy/runny nose.

Birthday coming to an end

Today was such a wonderful birthday, if I do say so myself! When I arrived at work, I found a chocolaty chocolate birthday cake! Then I decided that I must have a piece for breakfast. It's not bad...on your birthday! As the day progressed, the weather outside was WONDERFUL today. Sunny, very little wind and only slightly chilly. After I got off work, we went to dinner at Chili's...where I had the yummiest chips and salsa, and basically an appetizer mix. After dinner and a sweet shot for my birthday (cutest little things...really yummy too!) it was off to the cannery for my (and Robert's too) birthday presents...FOOD STORAGE! I have never been to the cannery before and it was very interesting and fun at the same time. I couldn't believe how fast and how much food we got done in just over an hour!

All in all I have had a wonderful birthday, and I have totally forgotten that I am getting closer and closer to 30! hehe

Birthday Card from Indonesia!!

I just had to post this...cause I loved it! My brother sent this to me today! He's the best little brother I could ask for!

Happy V-Day!

We had a fairly quiet and peaceful Valentine's Day. I decked the girls out in pink and red for the occasion (thanks to Grandma for the outfits!) and thought that they looked too cute to not take some pictures!! Teniah loves to be the center of all attention, but what five year old doesn't! She was able to have Grandma come to her Valentine's Party at school on Friday. Oh did she LOVE that! Kierstin has gotten my cheesy genes, and has become quite the little cheeser! I love it when she smiles though, and squints her little eyes and nose and bares all her teeth!

Here are the loves of my life...my three valentines!

It's Groundhog Day!!

Yesterday was Groundhog's Day and I held the first annual Groundhog Day party! I know what you are thinking...a party? for Groundhog's Day? Who has a party for the groundhog? Well, I do! And since I knew that was what all of my friends were thinking...I went all out.

I made cute invitations....
I made Groundhog Cupcakes....
We invited some of our oldest friends and one of our newest friends. And who would have guessed it, that on this holiday no one was out of town or visiting family. hehe We had a pot luck dinner of chili and cornbread, chips and dip, cookies, cupcakes, and root beer floats. We played my new favorite game (Discombobulation), which I don't know why it is really my favorite...I always seem to lose...in one hand I gained 200 points! Then we watched Groundhog Day (of course!)

All in all we had a complete blast! I love my friends, we can be silly and have so much fun! I wouldn't have minded at all to wake up this morning .... (not that I really woke up at 6:00 hehe)

to find out that it was Groundhogs day...again!
