I love my brother!!

This is just a little tribute to my brother! For the last few weeks, I have just been missing him, I'm not really sure as to why, but I have been. He is nearing the last few months of his mission (he'll be home in October), and I just have been missing him! Last week, while I was checking my email one night, I got an instant message from him. He was sending his weekly email, along with these photos. I was able to chat with him for a little while and it was great!! It was so fun to actually have a little conversation with him. It was funny to hear what he wanted to know. He was really curious about what I had done with the "old" house...and was shocked to find out that I had painted his room PURPLE!! He also wanted to know what his new room looked like. So in response to his questions...we sent him some pictures of the "new" house! :0)
I love my brother!! YAY for Kyle!

Egg Crepes

Here is another recipe that we have been ENJOYING the last few weeks.

Egg Crepes
Makes about 6 crepes

6 eggs
about 1/4 c of milk
2 heaping spoonfuls of flour
3 heaping spoonfuls of brown sugar
1 spoonful or so of cinnamon

Beat with mixer until all ingredients are well mixed, and no lumps! Heat up your sauce pan, and pour about 1/2 c or so of the mix into the pan. Cook and flip. We melt a little butter on top, and flip again.

Top with blueberries and a little honey...roll up and enjoy! We love them! Kierstin calls it pizza! :0)

The Ceremony

Here are some pictures from the Ceremony!

This is Captain Triplett and Sargent Johnson

Newest Member of the National Guard

Robert recently joined the national guard. He did his first drill weekend on the 23rd and enjoyed himself. He has four drill weekends of training before he heads off to Georgia for basic training. His training will last all summer long...from the end of April to the end of August. We are both excited for this new change that is in the air!

Hollywood Blvd!

On our last day in California we decided to go and see the Hollywood sign and the famous hand prints in the cement. It was something that I thought would be fun and I've always wanted to go. We parked under this huge mall. It was an indoor/outdoor mall but it was HUGE. We walked out into the mass of people. And we see all these 'famous people' and characters from movies. They were there to take pictures with. Teniah got her picture with Caption Jack Sparrow
Robert found Marilyn Monroe
We walked around and looked at all the hand prints. I can't remember all of the ones that we saw, but here are some pictures with some of our favorites!

Harrison Ford

The Cast of Harry Potter
Harry, Ron and Herimone

And of course, John Wayne

The Rose Parade!

After ringing in the New Year 2010 we quickly went to bed, because we had to wake up at about 4:30 to be ready to leave at 5 for the parade. Now most people would think we were crazy, but I tell you, it is worth being a little tired! We quickly got to our spot and then had to wait about 2 hours for the parade to get to us. But it is worth it!!! Kierstin had a blast watching all the floats and dancing to all the bands. Teniah had so much fun watching the parade with her cousins. The floats were really cool, and we got to see a lot of famous people. There was Jared the Subway guy, Jackie Chan, and Michelle Kwan. We had so much fun at the parade! It was a blast!

The Beach

We went to California after Christmas, to spend some time with Robert's family. We stayed at the Hartman house. One day we went to the beach. It was a beautiful day, but a little cold and windy at the beach. Kierstin 'dug' right in and didn't stop the whole time we were there. Teniah had fun running into the waves with her crazy cousins! The kids were SOAKED!! But I never heard one of them complain about being cold! We stayed for about an hour or so because it got too cold. I love the beach, I only wished it was warmer, I would'a been running in the waves too! Robert took Kierstin to see the water and she was really quite funny. He'd dip her toes in and she'd scream cause it was cold. Then when he finally set her down on the sand, she ran all the way to me, which was about 100 feet, saying "mama, mama, mama" over and over til she reached me. She needed a BIG hug and a kiss, and then she was all better!
